Full job description:
We are looking for an exceptional Cyber Security Analyst who has the passion for IT security, detecting threats, manage and maintenance.
As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will focus on IT Security and work with IT teams within the business to ensure that they are operating as securely as possible. As cyber security analyst in a geographically diverse development team, you employ your deep technical experience in this critical role, providing coding and hands-on technology expertise, working on and suggesting process and application improvements.
As a set of teams, we are at the crossroads where you can have an influence on the business’s IT engineering future; you will not be just one of the crowds. Alongside this you will be a huge advocate for agile engineering practice; we work in SCRUM making for a very fast paced environment.
Communication is key in this role and you will be adept at explaining complex subjects in simple terms as well as using these skills to “Bring people along for the ride”.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be responding and reporting on system alerts from monitoring and logging technologies
- Conducting vulnerability and controlling penetration testing.
- You will ensure that we are staying up to date on emerging threats and escalating where necessary to the appropriate team
- Oversea network and system security, analyse incidents and identify threats
- Identifying system vulnerabilities, conducting risk assessments
- Investigating and researching attack methods to create defences against emerging threats.
Technical Expertise
- 2-3 years’ experience in Cyber security or related field
- Experience with log analysis
- Understanding of network security concepts and technologies
- Experience with security analysis tools, including vulnerability scanners and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- General security knowledge – Vulnerability management, Backup Recovery, SIEM, Identity and access management
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCSP, CND OR CEH
Salary:
£26000-£28000/Annum (Depending on skills and experience)
